Project Spotlight: Restoring Mr. Millard's Pre-1978 Home with Expert Exterior Painting in Nampa Idaho

Spray 'n Coat Painting recently had the opportunity to work on a special project with Mr. Millard, a long-time customer in Nampa, Idaho. Mr. Millard needed a complete exterior refresh for his pre-1978 home, which was showing significant signs of wear. Given the home’s age, we followed strict EPA safety guidelines under the Lead Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Rule, making sure that every step of our work met the safety standards required for older homes. As one of the only EPA-certified painting companies in the Treasure Valley, we were ready to bring Mr. Millard’s home back to life with care, precision, and a fresh coat of durable paint.

Here’s What We Did:

Lead-Safe Preparation: Due to the home’s age, we implemented EPA-compliant lead-safe practices throughout, especially during scraping and sanding the peeling paint.
Thorough Scraping and Repair: With peeling paint around the house, especially in the covered parking area, we invested time in scraping, sanding, and performing necessary repairs to achieve a solid, clean surface for new paint.
Exterior Painting: We applied a high-quality, weather-resistant paint that’s built to withstand Idaho's seasons while boosting curb appeal. Our approach ensured long-lasting protection and an updated, beautiful look for this historic home.

After all the detailed prep work and care in following lead-safe guidelines, Mr. Millard’s home now stands out with a crisp, modern look that still respects its original character. The transformation has not only elevated his home’s curb appeal but also earned some compliments from neighbors (one of whom has already hired us for a project of their own!). Project Spotlight: Sealing the Deal at the Caldwell Airport Terminal

At Spray ’n Coat Painting, we often get called in to finish what others couldn’t quite get right—and that was the case with this 2,000 sq. ft. concrete floor coating project at the Caldwell Airport terminal. The building, now home to a private charter company, needed a durable and clean finish to make the space more welcoming for employees and travelers. Project Background This terminal originally had carpet in several areas, and after it was removed, thick glue residue was left behind across the concrete floors. Our customer had hired another contractor to handle the coating work, but unfortunately, they lacked the necessary equipment and experience for the job. That’s when we stepped in to get things done right. Our Process To give the customer the clean, sealed finish he was hoping for, our crew tackled the job in several key steps: Joint Filler Replacement: We started by removing the old joint filler and refilling the seams. Heavy Grinding & Surface Prep: Using professional grinding equipment, we stripped away all glue residue and opened up the pores of the concrete to ensure a strong bond. Matte Polyurethane Coating: We applied a commercial-grade polyurethane sealer in a matte finish. This not only improved the look of the space but also provided a stain-resistant, slip-resistant surface that can stand up to heavy foot traffic. Why It Matters For a commercial space like this—where first impressions matter and safety is non-negotiable—the right prep and coating system makes all the difference. The finished floor is now sealed, low-maintenance, and ready to take on day-to-day traffic from both staff and customers.
