Non-Slip Epoxy Floor Coating | Kuna, Idaho

September 5, 2025

When a local beef processing plant in Kuna reached out about coating specific walkways and restroom entry points, the priority was clear—improving safety and durability in areas exposed to constant foot traffic. This fast-paced industrial environment required a non-slip epoxy solution that could be installed quickly without compromising performance. Spray ’n Coat Painting was glad to deliver a clean, safe, and long-lasting result.

The Scope

This commercial epoxy floor coating project focused on two main hallway sections of approximately 100 square feet each, along with four restroom and locker room entry areas, each ranging from 50–65 square feet.

Our team completed all work in a single Saturday, carefully stopping at natural breaks in the concrete to achieve a seamless finish that blended with the surrounding flooring.

The System

We followed a multi-step process designed specifically for non-slip epoxy protection in commercial environments:

  • Surface Prep: Concrete was aggressively sanded and ground to remove existing coatings, wax, and contaminants.

  • Epoxy Primer/Base Coat: A base layer of epoxy was applied directly to the bare concrete for strong bonding and as the foundation of the system.

  • Quartz Broadcast: A full broadcast of 50/70 mesh quartz sand was applied into the wet epoxy to create a high-traction, textured surface.

Epoxy Topcoat: The system was finished with a light grey epoxy topcoat, adding durability, slip resistance, and easy maintenance.

The Impact

By completing the installation during off-hours, we ensured the facility could return to full operations without disruption. The newly coated walkways and entry points now provide safer footing, a cleaner appearance, and long-term resistance to heavy wear and cleaning agents.
