Concrete doesn’t have to mean plain and gray! Our customer DeEtta, a new homeowner in North Nampa, wanted her back patio to be both stylish and durable. Tired of the porous concrete look, she reached out to us to elevate her patio’s appearance with a premium concrete coating.

Our Approach:

We installed a top-quality concrete coating that added an elegant finish to her back patio, making it a space she could truly enjoy year-round. The coating not only enhanced the look but also made the patio easier to clean and maintain, withstanding Idaho’s elements beautifully.

This is a good one to show what really goes into an exterior repaint… most of it happens before the finish coat ever goes on. This home in Meridian is getting a full refresh in the same color the homeowner already loves. It was just time. And when you want it to last, prep is everything. We started with the standard prep… power washing, scraping any loose or peeling paint, spot priming, and sealing up all the caulking so the new paint has a solid surface to bond to. From there, we’re applying Sherwin-Williams Duration. It comes with a limited lifetime warranty, but in the real world, you’re looking at about 10–12 years when everything is done right. We also ran into wax bleed on this one, which is pretty common with composite siding. It’s caused by paraffin wax in the siding working its way to the surface, usually from heat or an older, thinner paint job. When that shows up, regular paint won’t cut it. We use a specialty oil-based primer that locks it down and gives the finish coat something solid to bond to. That’s the kind of detail work that most people don’t see… but it’s what keeps a paint job looking good long after we’re gone. We started planning this one back in December with Daryl as the project manager, and work kicked off mid-March. This is a full office renovation for a global records management company here in Boise, and it’s one of those projects where a lot is happening at once. We’re working in phases alongside other trades while the entire space gets reworked. Commercial projects like this one at Franz Bakery are a whole different ballgame. Over time, sugar and moisture had started breaking down the concrete around this piece of equipment. It’s something we see in food production facilities — sugar is surprisingly corrosive, and once it works its way into the surface, the concrete can start to deteriorate pretty quickly. Our team came in, prepped the area properly, and installed an industrial urethane cement flooring system built to handle heavy use, frequent washdowns, and constant exposure to sugars and organic materials. Urethane cement is tough, moisture-tolerant, and designed for environments exactly like this. We also added high-visibility safety lines around the perimeter to clearly define the workspace and improve foot traffic awareness for the team on site. We started this classroom flooring demo at New Plymouth High School with a hand scraper… and let’s just say it barely made a dent. Next, we tried a long-handled scraper — same story, just more effort. Finally, we brought in the ride-on floor scraper and that’s when things really started moving.
