Commercial Concrete Pillar Restoration at Silverstone Plaza

Exterior repairs and MultiSpec refinishing for The Sundance Company in Meridian

When The Sundance Company reached out to us about restoring the exterior pillars at Silverstone Plaza in Meridian, we knew it was more than just a cosmetic update—it was about protecting the integrity of a high-traffic commercial property. The existing MultiSpec-coated pillars had begun to deteriorate from years of exposure, showing signs of cracking, peeling, and concrete failure.

We were proud to partner with this respected property management company to help restore one of the Treasure Valley’s premier commercial buildings.

The Scope

Restoring 16 exterior pillars with an option for targeted repair near the entrance

This project focused on eight sets of concrete pillars—16 columns total—that wrap around the exterior of Silverstone Plaza. While the pillars still matched the building’s architectural design, several showed visible signs of wear. In addition to the full refinishing scope, we also provided the option to restore just the four pillars closest to the building entrance using the same detailed process.

Our goal was to bring the structure back to life without compromising durability or visual consistency.

The System

Comprehensive prep, concrete mortar repair, and a fortified MultiSpec coating

Our team followed a step-by-step process to ensure both structural repair and coating performance:

  • Surface Prep: Each pillar was sanded thoroughly to remove loose or peeling finish. A small hammer and wire brush were used to remove failing concrete.
  • Concrete Repair: Damaged areas were rebuilt with concrete mortar. Once cured, those patches were spot-primed for even adhesion.
  • Bonding Primer: A MultiSpec primer was applied to prepare the surface for coating and ensure a long-lasting bond with the previous finish.
  • Topcoat Finish: The final MultiSpec topcoat was installed at 130 square feet per gallon for optimal coverage and color consistency. A specialized catalyst was added to improve resistance against UV, moisture, and temperature swings.

The end result was a clean, uniform surface that both looks great and performs well in Idaho’s climate.

The Impact

Refinished pillars that match the building’s professional presence

The updated pillars at Silverstone Plaza now have a cohesive, professional finish that aligns with the overall look of the building. With improved weather resistance and restored concrete integrity, the property is better protected—and ready to welcome visitors and tenants alike.
